Malika Favre: Hide and Seek

A teaser flash animation to promote Malika Favre’s exhibition Hide and Seek in 2012. I had snapshot some major scene from this interesting clip. Favre is well-known in controlling flat tone graphics and figure-ground conditions. By manifesting mainly black and white stripes, the scenes lead us to go beyond our imagination. Besides the transformation of zebra crossing, roller blind, staircase and partition, the black and white stripes are also used for transitions in between the scenes. The rotations, extension and reduction of the stripes could be treated as the ‘opened spaces’ cinematographically in which they practically broaden the view of audience from a ‘restricted frame’.
